Research on Accurate Calculation and Evaluation Method of Losses in Flexible DC Converter Valves

This article establishes a new type of converter valve loss calculation model to address issues such as low accuracy and low efficiency in calculating converter valve losses under complex parameter conditions. This model comprehensively considers multiple loss components such as conduction loss, turn off loss, and switching loss during the operation of the converter valve. By introducing correction factors to improve the traditional calculation method, a fast calculation method suitable for complex parameter conditions is proposed. On this basis, a loss testing platform for converter valves was built, and multiple sets of different operating parameters were used for experimental verification. The experimental results show that the relative error between the proposed calculation model and the measured data is within 3%, which verifies the accuracy and reliability of the model. The research results can provide important references for the design optimization and loss assessment of converter valves.
