Analysis of an Unequal Split Power Divider for WLAN Applications

This study presents the analysis of an unequal split Wilkinson power divider which has been designed to operate at 5.2 GHz, with a power division ratio of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2: 1$</tex> between the output ports. The divider achieves a minimum return loss of - 22 dB. Additionally, a two-dimensional equivalent circuit model has been developed to validate and confirm the functionality of the power divider. The proposed power divider can be used to feed an antenna array for WLAN communication systems. A prototype of the proposed design has been fabricated and measured. Measured results bear a strong resemblance with simulated results.
