Filtering Antenna for Sub 6 GHz Application
A simulation study of filtenna using co-design approach is proposed in this paper. A circular patch acts as the main resonator and T section band pass filter is added to the feed section of the main radiator to result in desired filtering antenna. The filtenna has a gain of 4.58 dBi in the filter pass band and a stable return loss of less than 12 dB. Addition of the filter structure to the feed section of the radiator resulted in two radiation nulls with an attenuation of 12.89 dB and 16.15 dB at 4.8 GHz and 5.4 GHz respectively. The proposed circular filtenna has its application in the sub 6 GHz band.
