Having sex together
Good sex makes much of contemporary joint action theory look bad. Having sex is typically a joint intentional activity – having sex together –, but established theories of acting together seem rather ill equipped for application to the case. Having sex together – and doing it well – it is neither acting on a big plan nor a structure of obligations constituted by a joint commitment. This paper argues that an adequate theory of joint intentional action should be applicable to having sex together, and that a plural action view of acting together seems a more promising candidate than its main competitors in the field.
