A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON STRENGTH OPTIMIZATION OF BATTERY TRAYS FOR NEW ENERGY VEHICLES BASED ON MATERIAL LIGHTWEIGHTING

Against the backdrop of the vigorous development of the new energy vehicle industry, the performance of battery trays is directly related to the safety and stability of vehicles. In accordance with standards such as GB/T38031-2025 "Safety Requirements for Traction Power Batteries of Electric Vehicles", this study aims to enhance the static strength and modal performance of the battery tray.Through finite element analysis, the main frame of the primary battery pallet based on Q235 steel was simulated under static working conditions. The results show that the maximum stress of the original structure is 190.54MPa, which is lower than the yield limit of Q235 at 235MPa, the safety factor is 1.23, and the static strength meets the standard. However, the first-order natural frequency is only 21.049Hz, which is far lower than the 40Hz required by the national standard.Further comparison of 6061 aluminum alloy, QAl9-2 copper alloy and TC4 titanium alloy reveals that the first-order frequency of 6061 aluminum alloy is 40.675Hz, which can meet the national standards and strength requirements, and performs outstandingly in terms of lightweight and cost control. The research results provide optimization value for the engineering application of battery trays for new energy vehicles.
