Juegos Serios Educativos Digitales Orientados a la Enseñanza de laMatemática en Educación Secundaria. Estado del Arte
In a society of information and digital technology, mathematics education is conceived of as a vital tool to form representation systems of reality and to develop abilities of generalization and abstraction. The teaching of this discipline at the secondary level, on which this research focuses, is oriented to teenage students, most of whom have poor self-regulation, scarce motivation to study and difficulties to keep attention. In mathematics teaching and learning, it is particularly important to use different representation systems in order to form concepts correctly. Del Río (2017), citing Duval (2006), indicates that the only way to get access to mathematical objects and work with them is through semiotic representations, since they are not physically accessible. These concepts also call for complex cognitive processes, since “mathematical activity requires an internal coordination (which must be constructed) between the different representation systems that can be chosen and used” (Duval, 2006, p.145).
