Educação geográfica

The teaching of Geography aims to help students learn to grow, live, and coexist in society. However, challenges persist in the teaching process, such as the disconnect between the content and students' realities, and the lack of full understanding of the epistemological foundations of the discipline by some teachers. It is necessary to think about didactic methodologies so that the content promotes critical thinking and effective geographical analysis, as it should provide students with a reflective understanding of the space they live in and the social and environmental dynamics that shape it. This study discusses the role of the teacher, reflections on the teaching of Geography, and the implementation of complementary proposals, such as games and models, in the educational context. The basis for this research is derived from available records, resulting from previous studies, in printed documents such as books, articles, theses, etc. It uses data or theoretical categories already worked on by other researchers and properly recorded.
