Pensamiento, lenguaje y crimen. Al delito, por la palabra

Language is fundamental for socialization and personality formation. Brain maturation and its development are crucial. Inadequate linguistic stimulation in childhood can lead to learning and communication problems, affecting reading, writing, and comprehension abilities. Language not only facilitates communication but also structures conscious life and allows the acquisition of new knowledge. Competent use of language requires mastery of conversation, narration, and procedural discourse. Theory of Mind is crucial for good social interaction, and its development is related to the prefrontal cortex and executive functions. People from complex social environments may experience memory, learning, and impulse control problems, which can lead to cognitive distortions and hostile attribution biases. Thus, language not only communicates identity but also shapes and constantly reevaluates it. Therefore, language and symbolic communication have functional value and can influence criminal behavior. Criminal subcultures use language to create symbolic worldviews that justify their actions. Social exclusion and stressful environments can lead to cognitive simplification and the acceptance of criminality as a reasonable and legitimate way of life.
