Constructing stable solid electrolyte interfaces and facilitating Li transport <i>via</i> an electrolyte additive for lithium metal batteries
Herein, we propose <i>N</i>-methyl-<i>N</i>-(trimethylsilyl) trifluoroacetamide (MSTFA) as an electrolyte additive. MSTFA enters the solvation structure and participates in the formation of a stable SEI/CEI. An electrolyte containing MSTFA makes the Li‖Li cell cycle stably for 400 cycles, while the LiFePO4‖Li cell maintained 93.6% capacity retention after 500 cycles at 5C.
