Analysis of integrated application of optical fiber switching protection and optical bypass switches

With the increasing criticality of the services carried by communication networks, the requirements for network availability and business continuity have reached an unprecedented height. Any fiber link interruption or network equipment failure may lead to significant losses. Traditional single protection mechanism. (such as only device redundancy or only link protection) is sometimes not enough to meet the most demanding SLA requirements. How to build an end-to-end protection scheme that can simultaneously resist fiber link failures and network node equipment failures (especially security devices and firewalls), this paper proposes to combine the Optical Line Protection device with the optical bypass switch with the pure electrical switching time method. By testing the related important parameters of 1: 1 OLP and pure electric switched light bypass, the feasibility of the results is analyzed. The combination of the two makes the switching time of the link layer and the device layer improved, and achieves the functions of fault protection and signal optimization.
