FALLO TERAPÉUTICO DURANTE LA TERAPIA CON DENOSUMAB: REPORTE DE CASO Y REVISIÓN DE LA LITERATURA.
Denosumab is a monoclonal antibody used as a treatment for osteoporosis. The case of a 93-year-old woman with a history of bone fragility fractures in the right tibia and bilateral humerus is described. Treatment with Denosumab was started for 2 years, with control bone densitometry showing a 3.4% decrease in bone mineral density in the hip and X-ray of the dorsal spine with vertebral fracture, considered therapeutic failure to denosumab. Monitoring the effectiveness of osteoporotic therapy is recommended by means of bone densitometry in the hip, identifying therapeutic failure early in order to offer a timely change in therapy.
