Estrategias Didácticas para el Manejo y Control del Caracol Africano (Achtina Fulica) en la Institución Educativa Ciudad Córdoba Sede Enrique Olaya Herrera de Cali
The African snail (Achatina fulica) represents an ecosystem, economic, social, cultural, and health threat, among others, that alters environmental life and its ecological cycles in Colombia. The purpose of this research is to establish didactic pedagogical strategies to raise awareness among the educational community of the Ciudad Córdoba Institution, Enrique Olaya Herrera campus, located in Commune 15 of Cali, about the management and control of this invasive species. A triple-entry table is used to categorize and develop constructs to locate the indicators that make up the surveys. A mixed approach is applied, with quantitative (surveys) and qualitative (interviews and observation) methods, based on authors such as Leff, E. Freire, P. Lugones, Botell, M and Ramírez Bermúdez, M. Hernández, Sampiere, R. The intervention includes active participation with fourth-grade students, teachers, parents and the community at large, with workshops, posters placed in strategic places, videos and recreational activities to raise awareness. The sample is universal, including the entire community of 450 people. It is concluded that the integration of scientific and local knowledge, through a participatory environmental pedagogy, allows for the generation of critical awareness, mitigates the presence of the African snail and replicates control strategies in other vulnerable communities.
