Industrial Structure and Economic Performance: Macroeconomic Implications of Consumption and Leisure Externalities
ABSTRACT This paper develops a monopolistic competition macroeconomic model with consumption externalities and leisure externalities, and uses it to discuss economic performance under both vertical separation and vertical integration structures. The results of the analysis show that the feature of consumption externalities and leisure externalities plays an important role in determining the relative macroeconomic performance between these two regimes.
