Optimization of Visual Communication Graphic Layout Design based on Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm
With the advancement of digital media, the rationality of visual communication graphic layout has become crucial for information transmission efficiency. Traditional layout methods, relying on empirical design, suffer from issues such as strong subjectivity and low optimization efficiency, failing to effectively address core challenges like space utilization, visual balance, and conflicts in information hierarchy. This study proposes an intelligent layout framework based on the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to tackle these challenges. The framework incorporates a fitness calculation mechanism to quantitatively evaluate layout plans by integrating multiple criteria: aesthetic compliance with the golden section principle, visual balance, satisfaction of spatial constraints, and alignment with user preferences regarding element priority, taboo areas, and color schemes. Higher fitness values are assigned to layouts that excel in these aspects. Experimental comparisons with the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Simulated Annealing Algorithm (SA) demonstrate the superiority of the PSO-based framework. Key findings include: Iteration Speed: The PSO algorithm reduces average iteration time by approximately 38.6% compared to GA and 23.5% compared to SA. Visual Satisfaction: PSO increases average layout satisfaction by 20% and 10.5% relative to GA and SA, respectively. Information Recognition Efficiency: The PSO-generated layouts achieve information recognition times fluctuating between 1.5 and 3 seconds, outperforming traditional methods. This research introduces a data-driven approach to visual design, shifting the field from experience-based to algorithm-optimized practices. The PSO-based framework offers a robust solution for intelligent graphic layout, enhancing both design efficiency and user-centric performance. The findings provide a new methodological foundation for advancing visual communication in the digital era.
