3DOF-PID Controllers based Five Level Inverter for Improving Power Quality of Hybrid AC Microgrid Associated by MIWA-SVPWM
Renewable energy sources are gaining significant traction globally, especially in the context of hybrid Microgrids. Photovoltaic (PV) systems and Wind Power Conversion Systems (WPCSs) utilizing Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generators (PMSG) are recognized as efficient energy sources that can be readily deployed in a variety of environments. The variability in power generation resulting from the erratic changes in wind speed and solar radiation presents a significant challenge. Additionally, the load experiences unpredictable variations, which introduces further complexity to the power balance. Hybrid systems tackle these challenges by incorporating storage solutions like compact batteries, fuel cells (FC), and electrolyzers. An effective energy management system is essential for enhancing power quality across all elements of the Microgrid. This study employs an innovative controller grounded in 3DOF-PID controllers to facilitate precise and rapid responses in the management of energy systems. An improved selection procedure employing the Modified Invasive Weed Algorithm (MIWA) has been introduced to optimize power quality at the load bus by utilizing a five-level H-Bridge inverter. To ensure comprehensive results, a Hardware-In-Loop (HIL) system has been developed for the proposed system, employing OPAL-RT modules. The integration of hardware results further enriches the findings of the research.
