Parameter Estimation Method for Micro-Motion Target Based on Pseudo-Range Profile Sequences
Parameter estimation for micro-motion cone target plays an important rule in recognizing ballistic missiles, and researches at present are mainly based on wideband radar observation. However, the existing methods always have high bandwidth requirement for radar system, which heavily limits their application. Aiming at this problem, a parameter estimation method using narrowband radar is proposed in this research. The echo modulation characteristics under narrowband radar observation are analyzed firstly, and the pseudo-range profile sequences is extracted using the scattering centers’ micro-Doppler and phase information, then the micro-motion and structure parameters are estimated using the pseudo-range profile sequences. Finally the correct estimation results are selected by a two-level elimination method. Experiments with electromagnetic data are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the comparison is carried out with the traditional method based on range profiles. Results show that estimation accuracy exceeds 98% at high-level SNR condition, and still performs well with SNR at 6 dB with an accuracy level of 95%, which indicate that the precision and noise adaptability of parameter estimation are effectively enhanced.
