Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) Architecture Using Verilog
Low-density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes have significantly been a vital resource in modern communication systems due to their close-to-capacity error-correcting capabilities and tendency to align well with various applications. The paper describes the architecture design and implementation of an LDPC encoder and decoder using Verilog. As for the state-of-the-art study on encoding and decoding, particularly referring to iterative methods for example, Bit-Flipping, Min-Sum, and Sum-Product algorithms, were considered. These methods are evaluated in terms of BER performance, computational complexity, and hardware efficiency. The proposed architecture is systematic encoder decoder integrated efficiently in such a way that it is optimized for high throughput and low resource utilization. Simulation results indicated the aptitude of the system in correcting transmission errors with respect to different noise conditions. It will depict its applicability in wireless communication in 5G networks and deep-space missions. These results show a possibility of LDPC codes to balance efficiency and reliability, hence provide significant contributions toward the advance of error-correcting systems.
