Multi-Functional RIS Empowered UAV-Aided ISAC Systems
This study investigates an integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system enhanced by a multi-functional reconfigurable intelligent surface (MF-RIS) deployed on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The primary objective is to optimize the radar signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) through the joint optimization of three key components: the beamforming matrix of the base station (BS), the UAV trajectory, and the MF-RIS configuration. The optimization is constrained by the quality of service (QoS) requirements for communication users (UEs) and the transmit power limitations imposed on both the MF-RIS and BS. To address this complex optimization challenge, an alternating optimization (AO) algorithm has been developed to handle the non-convex radar SINR objective, effectively addressing the subsequent quartic optimization issue. Experimental simulations are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
