Research on the Issues of Motor Losses and Torque Ripple for BLDC Motors
This study investigates the impacts of slot opening, permanent magnet arc length, and air gap length on torque characteristics, torque ripple, and energy losses. On the Issues of Motor Losses and Torque Ripple, the study based on the One-Variable-at-a-Time (OVAT) analysis. Parameter-by-parameter simulations were conducted using Motor-CAD 15 Through graphical analysis of the plotted data; the optimized parameters were systematically selected to achieve enhanced performance. The results demonstrated that through optimization, the motor’s torque ripple decreased from 18.357% pre-optimization to 1.944%, while power loss reduced from 51.07 W to 41.98 W.
