The Manakov equation of mixed type and its matrix generalization
We introduce the matrix Manakov equation of mixed type by using algebraic properties of the Lie algebra u(k, n-k), which is a nice supplementary to the matrix nonlinear Schrdinger equation.As a consequence, the general Manakov equation is generalized to the matrix case.By making use of some peculiar properties of u(k, n-k), we derive both the geometric realization and Darboux transformation of the matrix Manakov equation of mixed type.
