ECONOMIC ROLE OF BUSINESS ACTIVITY MONITORING IN MANAGING BUSINESS PROCESSES OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES

The article substantiates conceptual approaches to organizing monitoring of agricultural enterprises' development as a strategic management tool, based on identifying trends, patterns, and risks in the dynamics of economic activity. Monitoring is proposed to be defined as a systematic and continuous process of observing, collecting, analyzing, and evaluating information about the state or dynamics of complex socio-economic systems, phenomena, or processes through key indicators, aimed at identifying deviations, forecasting, making informed management decisions, controlling performance efficiency, and ensuring the achievement of established goals. A classification of agricultural enterprises by several criteria is proposed, enabling the formation of an adaptive monitoring system that takes into account organizational-legal, sectoral, scale, and technological peculiarities, thus ensuring effective management of agricultural sector development. The purpose of the research is to scientifically substantiate theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding the essence of “monitoring” as a tool for supporting managerial decision-making at agricultural enterprises within a dynamic external environment. A phased model of organizing the monitoring of agricultural enterprises' development based on classification criteria is substantiated, enabling the systematization of information flows, ensuring comprehensive evaluation of enterprise efficiency, timely response to external environment changes, interpretation of results, and decision-making at enterprise, community, and cluster levels. The necessity for institutionalizing monitoring processes at the level of territorial communities and agro-food clusters is argued, which will promote agricultural sector sustainability, enhance resource management efficiency, and adaptation to challenges posed by the European Green Deal. The material can be used for formulating policies supporting agricultural development, strategic planning, and designing decision-making systems in agriculture.
