On the Morphological Characteristics of the Valves of Bivalve Mollusks of the Paleogene Genera Ferganea and Neogyra (Ostreidae, Bivalvia)

Based on the study of large specimens of Paleogene oysters from the Fergana Valley in Uzbekistan, which are stored in the paleontological museum of Kryvyi Rih National University, the distinctive characteristics of the little-known genus of oysters Neogyra Vialov, 1965, are analyzed, a comparison is made with the genus Ferganea Vialov, 1936, and a new species, Neogyra belokrusia, is described.
