Enhanced toxic trace element detection in water using LIBS combined with a femtosecond laser-engineered hydrophobic–hydrophilic structured substrate
Laser-patterned hydrophobic–hydrophilic enclosures confine droplets and suppress coffee-ring effects, boosting LIBS to ppb LODs for Cr, Pb and As ( R 2 > 0.98). PLSR further improves quantitation, enabling a simple, scalable route for water monitoring.
