AI-POWERED E-MAIL ASSISTANT USING SPRING BOOT

With the rapid rise of digital communication, people are receiving more emails than ever before, often leading to information overload, reduced productivity, and mental fatigue. This paper explores the design and development of an AI-powered E-Mail Assistant, created using the Spring Boot framework, which is intended to automate and simplify everyday email management tasks. The system incorporates Google Gemini's large language model (LLM) to provide advanced natural language processing capabilities, enabling it to summarise lengthy email conversations, generate smart and context-aware replies, and categorise emails according to priority and topic. To ensure privacy and data security, the assistant uses secure OAuth 2.0-based integration with the Gmail API, while a microservices-based architecture allows for efficient backend processing and seamless deployment using Docker containers. The user interface, built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, offers a clean, responsive, and intuitive experience through both a standalone web application and a browser extension.Initial evaluations have shown clear improvements in email-handling speed, accuracy of categorisation, and overall user satisfaction when compared to traditional manual approaches.Overall, this project demonstrates how combining AI-driven language understanding with modern backend frameworks can effectively address the problem of email overload and improve productivity for users.
