Overview of Telehealth in the Department of Veterans Affairs
A variety of tools and technology with which telehealth can be delivered exist. This enables health care organizations to leverage their clinical networks to match supply and demand across their enterprise and offer additional choices for how patients receive their care. The COVID-19 pandemic was an opportune time for expansion of telehealth. Postpandemic, in many health care systems, it has become a core part of clinical operations. To realize the full potential of telehealth and to ensure equity across populations, addressing gaps in broadband access and digital skills will be critical.
