Co-existence of the oxazolidinone resistance genes cfr and optrA on a novel multiresistance plasmid from a methicillin-resistant Macrococcoides bohemicum strain
To the best of our knowledge, this study represents the first report of the oxazolidinone resistance genes cfr and optrA in the genus Macrococcoides. Furthermore, attention should be paid to the exchange of resistance determinants between members of the genera Staphylococcus, Mammaliicoccus and Macrococcoides.
