Generalized Hypertaurodontism an Enigma and Challenges in the Management of an Endo-perio Lesion: A Rare Case Study

Generalized hypertaurodontism is a unique and rare dental condition found in both syndromic and nonsyndromic patients. This condition usually remains undiagnosed until the patient presents to the Dental OPD for a diagnosis requiring radiographic examination.Hypertaurodontism poses no problem to the patient in terms of functioning. This article aims to present an endo-perio lesion in a hypertaurodont tooth in a nonsyndromic patient having generalized hypertaurodontism and its management.Endodontic management of such teeth presents multiple difficulties to the operator because of the variation in anatomy, although the prognosis of such a condition is favorable as the furcation is located near the apex of the tooth, provided it is not associated with advanced bone loss.
