The Effect of Educational Field-Specific Exercises on Developing Motor Acuity and Learning the Skill of Ladder Shooting in Basketball

This study aimed to identify the effect of educational field-specific exercises on developing motor dexterity and learning the skill of ladder shooting in basketball among a sample of students. The research problem stemmed from the difficulties faced by beginners when learning the skill of ladder shooting. They often suffer from poor motor coordination and a lack of skill in smoothly transitioning between movements, which hinders accuracy of performance and leads to a decline in the level of skill mastery. The adoption of traditional teaching methods based on mechanical repetition of skills without attention to the motor and cognitive aspects did not contribute sufficiently to developing students' performance. The sample consisted of (24) students, divided into two equal groups (experimental and control), with (12) students in each group. The researcher used the experimental method due to its suitability to the nature of the research. The experimental group underwent a program of special educational exercises designed according to scientific principles that take into account gradualism, diversity, and the relationship between motor and skill abilities, while the control group received the traditional teaching method. The results showed statistically significant differences between the two groups, in favor of the experimental group, in the variables of motor dexterity and ladder shooting. This indicates the effectiveness of special educational exercises in improving motor dexterity and the accuracy of skill performance. The researcher recommended the necessity of integrating these exercises into the training and educational curricula for the subject of physical education, especially in the early stages of learning.
