HISTÓRIA DO TRABALHO DOCENTE FEMININO: REFLEXÕES SOBRE EDUCAÇÃO, TRABALHO E GÊNERO
A patriarchal and sexist society tends to make women invisible and discriminate against them. These characteristics of Brazilian society are a legacy of colonialism, and even after independence, they continue to be repeated in a structural and institutionalized manner. Women have been fighting for years for recognition and gender equality, but their importance has almost always been diminished and subjugated by the fact of being women. This article proposes a brief discussion of Education, Work, and Gender, seeking to explore the history of female schooling in Brazilian education, the insertion of women into the world of work in teaching, and the feminization of the teaching profession. This article seeks to contribute to the historical account of the advancement of women's struggles for respect, dignity, and gender equality. A bibliographic review of writings addressing the same topic was conducted to construct these findings. It's crucial to understand that women have occupied important spaces in society over the years. Through education, they have achieved prominent positions in the workplace. However, society still persists in maintaining sexist and patriarchal stereotypes. Therefore, it's essential to discuss gender equality and fight to guarantee women's rights.
