INTRODUCTION. Pneumonia cases are among the leading causes of hospitalizations in older adults due to their tendency toward lower immunity to respiratory infections. Nursing staff play a key role in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients. OBJECTIVES. To identify effective care for pneumonia in older adults to improve outcomes. METHODOLOGY. A descriptive systematic review based on PRISMA. A search was conducted in six databases, searching for articles from 2019 to 2024, selecting 25 studies for comparative analysis. RESULTS. Evidence-based nursing care improves the treatment of pneumonia in nursing homes through clinical surveillance, individual planning, and ongoing follow-up. These actions reduce complications and strengthen recovery. CONCLUSION. Nurses should implement adults.
