Research on the selection and application of new type wire in high voltage overhead transmission line
As the power grid capacity continues to grow and the transmission environment becomes increasingly complex, traditional conductors are increasingly showing limitations in terms of current-carrying capacity, mechanical strength, and environmental adaptability, making it difficult for them to meet the stringent safety and economic requirements of high-voltage overhead transmission lines. Therefore, this paper focuses on the selection and application of new conductors in high-voltage overhead transmission lines. Based on the characteristics of new materials such as aluminum-clad steel-reinforced heat-resistant aluminum alloy stranded wire, a technical parameter system covering electrical and mechanical properties is established. A scientific selection evaluation model is developed through multi-objective decision-making matrix and critical condition calculations. The study finds that new conductors offer improved current-carrying capacity compared to traditional conductors. In special scenarios like heavy ice zones and long spans, targeted design and construction technology standards can significantly enhance the line's safety and economic efficiency.
