Design and testing of a topology-optimized lattice mirror with high specific stiffness
To achieve a lightweight, high-stiffness, and high-surface-figure-accuracy spatial mirror design, this study introduces a topology-optimized lattice mirror design method with high specific stiffness. First, what we believe to be a novel high-specific-stiffness lattice structure (TFFCC, Topology optimization framework face-centered cubic) was developed through topology optimization. Subsequently, a topology-optimized lattice mirror was developed by integrating topology optimization methodology. Finally, selective laser melting (SLM) technology was utilized to fabricate the mirror blank, followed by modal testing to determine its vibration characteristics. Experimental results demonstrate that compared with a conventional mirror of equivalent lightweight ratio, the topology-optimized lattice mirror exhibits significant advantages. Its first-order natural frequency increases from 1826.71 Hz to 2942.35 Hz, representing an improvement of 61.08%. This method provides an innovative solution for the lightweight design of high-stiffness mirrors.
