An approach of novel CFAR algorithm for moving ship made oil spill detection
This paper presents preliminary results from the development of a new approach using a Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) detector for the simultaneous detection of oil spills on the sea surface and the moving ship that caused the pollution. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data from the Sentinel-1 satellite constellation, and in particular for the Black Sea aquatory, were used for the algorithm development and the research activities.
