Preparation and properties of 8~18GHz wideband radar absorbing materials
Mn-Zn ferrite, carbonyl iron powder and phosphide carbonyl iron powder were selected to test and compare their electromagnetic parameters and reflectance. The light and wide band absorbers were optimized. The average reflectance of carbonyl iron powder as absorbers was ≤-7.5dB in the 8GHz~18GHz band with a surface density of 4kg/m2. Two matrix resins, polyurethane resin and epoxy resin, were selected to compare the effects of resin types and face to base ratio on absorption properties, and it was determined that polyurethane resin was used as matrix resin. The wave absorbing properties, flexibility and impact resistance of the wave absorbing coating were better. When the organic bentonite is used as the anti-settling agent to prevent the settlement of the wave absorbing coating, the coating can stand for eight hours without obvious delamination settlement when the addition amount is 2%~5% by weight of solid content.
