Numerical simulation on vertical cooling process of hot sinter
The large-scale CFD software FLUENT was used to simulate the vertical cooling process of sinter using a porous medium model in this paper. The influence of key process parameters—including vertical heat exchanger dimensions, sinter particle size, flue gas inlet temperature, and flue gas flow rate—on sinter outlet temperature, flue gas outlet temperature, and system pressure was investigated. Results indicate that, considering both flue gas outlet temperature and fan power consumption, the optimal configuration comprises a vertical tank with a radius of 2.5m and a height of 6.0m, paired with a sinter particle diameter of 40mm.
