Analysis of layout of lifting points of large-span single-layer grid structure made of steel pipe materials

Proper layout plan of lifting points for the integral hoisting of large-span single-layer grid structure made of steel materials is analyzed using finite element software considering the importance of designing lifting-point layout for large-span steel structure widely used in engineering. Square pyramid space grids made of steel materials with two geometrical dimension of 60m×90m and 120m×180m are analyzed, and the factors such as position of lifting points, layout plan of lifting points and size of local loading district are considered. In the principle of minimum vertical displacement of the steel grid structure presented here, the best layout of lifting points of the different grid structure is obtained. It is concluded that the layout plan of lifting points, the position of lifting point (upper lifting point or lower lifting point) and the size of the local loading district in central region of the structure all have effects on the best layout of lifting points of the grid structure. The best layout of lower lifting points is that cx = 20m, cy = 40m for the single-layer steel grid structure with geometrical dimension of 60m×90m, and cx = 40m, cy = 50m for the structure with dimension of 120m×180m.
