Solid-State Detectors of Optical Signals and Radiation Part 2.2. Figures of Merit
Abstract. In continuation of the second part of the review of solid-state detectors of optical signals and radiation, generalized figures of merit and competitiveness of different types of detectors are considered. The review emphasizes the probabilistic description of random detection processes in solid-state detectors with avalanche multiplication.
