A safety data classification model for oil and gas upstream and downstream sectors

The safety of a workforce is the primary responsibility of the employer and if production chain is seen as a key factor to the development of a society, then, workforce safety must be prioritized. For the purpose of understanding and a solutions driven approach to the underlying question of workforce safety, this study employed a strategic approach by undergoing a critical research in safety management at various organizations and how best the staff wellbeing and safety interest are carefully guided through safety precaution classification. To achieve this, the study employed an approach of data classification through the instrumentality of primary data sourcing that best captured this research. The use of questionnaire in eliciting for primary data from the organizational staff was a game changer. The data received were subjected to critical evaluation through the use of automated application like SPSS and Excel package. Four (4) multinational companies were surveyed and tagged under the code name COY1, COY2, COY3 and COY4. For visualization and result authentication purpose, mathematical regression method was employed as part of the evaluation and classification techniques. On the design of the comparative analysis system, it was structured with Waterfall model. The result showed that COY4 has the upper hand in adherence to safety requirements. Though, it is seen to be below COY1 in training but on a general range, it was seen as the dominant player of safety guidelines with desirability function of Max.value 10.6565
