Bir Aile Sağlığı Merkezine Başvuran Hipertansiyon Hastalarının Öz Yeterlilik Algıları ile Tedaviye Uyumları Arasındaki İlişkinin Belirlenmesi
Aim: Hypertension is a chronic disease and a serious health problem that can lead to various complications. Hypertension follow-up and treatment control are important. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the self-efficacy and treatment compliance levels of hypertension patients. Material and Methods: The study is descriptive-cross-sectional. Three hundred and four people who met the inclusion criteria were reached at the designated family health center. The data collection tool consists of 4 sections (Descriptive Characteristics, Information on Hypertension, Hypertension Self-Efficacy Scale, Hill-Bone Hypertension Treatment Adherence Scale). Data were collected by face-to-face interview method. Percentage, mean, parametric tests were used in the analysis of the data. Statistical significance level was determined as p ≤0.05. Results: The average age of the participants was 62.80±10.84 and it was determined that the wound had HT for 1–5 years. The rate of those who regularly go for Hypertension check-ups was found to be 71.7%. The participants’ total mean score on the Hypertension Self-Efficacy Scale was 54.33±12.41, and the total mean score on the Hill-Bone Treatment Adherence Scale was 27.43±6.71. A negative moderate correlation was found between the Hypertension Self-Efficacy Scale and the Hill-Bone Treatment Adherence Scale. (r=-0.479; p<0.01). Conclusion and recommendations: In our study, participants’ treatment adherence and self-efficacy levels were found to be average. Self-efficacy and treatment adherence perceptions should be increased in hypertension patients. Studies on larger sample groups are recommended, considering parameters such as education status, age, and treatment adherence. Keywords: Hypertension, self-efficacy, adherence
