DIGITALIZACIJA, PARADIGMA O ODRŽIVOM RAZVITKU I MODERNO (GRAĐANSKO) PRAVOSUĐE SPREMNO ZA BUDUĆE IZAZOVE

“A modern judiciary prepared for future challenges” serves as the overarching theme for a series of reforms Croatia is set to implement under the ambitious and well-funded European project - the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021– 2026. A central component of this program is the continued digitalization of the judiciary, along with the advancement of case management and case processing systems. Following an introductory discussion on the importance, inevitability, pervasiveness, and legal challenges of digitalization in today’s global context, the paper provides an overview of the key digital reforms and initiatives undertaken within the Croatian judicial system. The analysis emphasizes that digital transformation is not merely a technical endeavour, but rather a complex process that requires not only clearly defined goals but also the accountability of policymakers and stakeholders responsible for the (non)implementation of previously established objectives.
