EDUCAÇÃO DE JOVENS E ADULTOS: FATORES QUE INFLUENCIAM A EVASÃO ESCOLAR DOS ALUNOS DA EDUCAÇÃO DE JOVENS E ADULTOS DA ESCOLA ESTADUAL SENADOR JOÃO BOSCO RAMOS DE LIMA, MARAÃ-AMAZONAS, BRASIL

This article discusses Youth and Adult Education, where the factors that enable school dropout in the modality of EJA are pointed out, as well as the future expectations of students of the State School Senador João Bosco Ramos de Lima, Maraã-Amazonas-Brazil. The general objective was to know the factors that influence the dropout of students from Youth and Adult Education at the Escola Estadual Senador João Bosco Ramos de Lima, Maraã, Amazonas-Brazil. The research was qualitative in nature, through a case study. The methodological procedures adopted were: exploratory research, bibliographical research and field research, with the application of questionnaires and/or interviews. The purpose is to verify through scientific findings that economic, family and social factors are determining factors for the school dropout and/or return of students in the EJA modality, and also to know the future expectations of these students, since there are numerous problems of economic order, which have contributed to school dropout and these are visible through the lack of employment ties, caused by social inequalities, the teacher’s training and the family. It is necessary for the school management team, together with the teachers, to develop actions that seek possible solutions in cases of school dropout in the EJA modality. These actions should reflect on the school practices, aiming at proposals that recognize the individualities and diversities of the Youth and Adult Education student. In this sense, the school must try to find the multiple faces of these problems, which stimulate and induce the students to leave the school environment. The school’s role when facing the dropout problem is to redefine its pedagogical practices and methodological tools, in order to keep the student in school and make possible his insertion in the higher education level and in the labor market.
