A boundary integral equation method for dislocations and concentrated forces in coated anisotropic elastic half-spaces
Abstract In this paper, an anisotropic elastic half-space perfectly coated with a finite layer in the presence of concentrated forces or dislocations is considered. The fundamental solutions of a concentrated line force and a dislocation for anisotropic biomaterials are utilized to construct a non-singular boundary integral equation for the problem of interest. The basic unknowns in the integral equation are the gradients of the surface displacements, which can be calculated numerically using classical Gaussian quadrature as the related integral is non-singular. The stress fields at any point in the coated half-space can be computed once the gradients of the surface displacements are determined.
