Life Link AI Helmet

Motorcycle riders' lack of protective gear and delayed emergency response make them disproportionately susceptible to traffic accidents. The design and development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled smart helmet that incorporates cutting-edge sensing, actuation, and communication technologies to improve rider safety is presented in this study. Depending on relative velocity and trajectory, the suggested system uses a millimeter-wave radar sensor for proximity detection and collision prediction, which may forecast possible collisions within a time range of 10 to 15 seconds. The helmet may interface with the motorcycle's electronic braking system to perform automatic slowdown in high-risk situations. It also initiates multimodal warning signals, such as visual (LED), aural (buzzer), and haptic (vibration) input. The helmet has a multi-airbag deployment mechanism for impact mitigation, which is intended to lessen injuries to the head and cervical spine. An integrated alcohol detection module enforces ignition interlock, thereby preventing vehicle operation under intoxicated conditions. In the event of a collision, a GSM and GPS-enabled communication subsystem automatically transmits the rider’s location and emergency alert messages to healthcare facilities and designated contacts. By combining predictive analytics, active safety alerts, passive protection mechanisms, and automated emergency communication, the smart helmet constitutes a comprehensive cyber-physical safety system that can significantly reduce both accident occurrence and post-crash response time.
