Features of communication between Smart Dust technology components in environmental monitoring systems
This article discusses the challenges and prospects of Smart Dust technology in environmental monitoring. Key issues are identified regarding the integration of optical MEMS sensors and the creation of distributed sensor networks for real-time environment assessment. It is shown that Smart Dust deployment enables autonomous sensor operation, high measurement density, and efficient data transmission. Major limitations include energy consumption, device degradation, and communication difficulties between nodes. Optimization of algorithms and energy-efficient solutions are proposed to improve reliability and expand the use of Smart Dust in environmental monitoring.
