Los modelos familiares en la Literatura Infantil y Juvenil: un catálogo para Educación Infantil / Family models in Children's and Young Adult Literature: a catalogue for Early Childhood Education
The study highlights family diversity in society, where different models can be considered: two-parent, homoparental, single-parent, reconstituted, foster, adoptive, extended and intercultural and transnational. In this context, Children's and Young Adult Literature can become a resource that provides students with examples, stories and references that give visibility to the different family structures. Thus, the study aims to develop a catalogue of readings for Early Childhood Education that addresses the various models of family organization, to normalize from childhood the present diversity, recognizing its validity and rights. For this purpose, a descriptive and qualitative methodology based on content analysis is followed. Forty-three readings have been selected, recommended for ages between 3 and 6 years, which have been classified into different categories. It is possible to observe in the different texts the recurrence of some family models, as opposed to the scarce representation of others. Through their analysis, it has been shown how the presence of family diversity in literature aimed at children allows the reader to know and understand this reality, as well as to adopt strategies and attitudes that support their actions.
