Wireless communication in 560 GHz band using soliton-microcomb-seeded THz waves with QPSK and 16QAM modulation

Photomixing of a soliton microcomb with a UTC-PD enables low phase noise THz wave generation for integrated photonic-based communication. We successfully demonstrate 560 GHz wireless data transmission below 40 Gbps using QPSK and 16QAM modulation.

Abstract

Photomixing of a soliton microcomb with a UTC-PD enables low phase noise THz wave generation for integrated photonic-based communication. We successfully demonstrate 560 GHz wireless data transmission below 40 Gbps using QPSK and 16QAM modulation.
