Ultrafast Laser Micromachining at High Average Powers: Model for Designing Process Strategies for High Quality and High Throughput

We present a model to optimize micromachining regarding throughput using high-power ultrafast lasers. Experiments with up to 1 kW demonstrated ablation rates 10-100 times higher than state-of-the-art, while maintaining a low roughness of 1 μm.

Abstract

We present a model to optimize micromachining regarding throughput using high-power ultrafast lasers. Experiments with up to 1 kW demonstrated ablation rates 10-100 times higher than state-of-the-art, while maintaining a low roughness of 1 μm.
