III-V/Si Bound States in Continuum Lasers with Quantum Well (QW) and Quantum Dot (QD) Gain

We demonstrate the integration of quantum well and quantum dot gain with a silicon photonic crystal (PhC) at telecommunication wavelengths resulting in optically pumped laser emission from symmetry protected bound states in the continuum (BIC).
