Coherent Beam Combining as a Scalable Way to High Output Power for "All Wavelengths" in Quantum Technology, Holography, and Micro-Lithography
Tapered amplifiers are workhorses for all wavelengths in the red and NIR with decent beam profiles of a few Watts. Power scaling for applications with fiber coupling or coupling to resonant frequency doublers is prevented by distorted beams. Coherent beam combining offers both power scaling and beam profile cleaning, crucial for many applications.
