A VCSEL-based Optical Ising Computer with Parallel Feedback System for Large-Scale Optimization

We propose an optical architecture utilizing injection-locked Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) with parallel feedback allowing all-to-all connections without electrical bottleneck. Experimental realization of single bit switching is demonstrated as a proof-of-concept.

Abstract

We propose an optical architecture utilizing injection-locked Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) with parallel feedback allowing all-to-all connections without electrical bottleneck. Experimental realization of single bit switching is demonstrated as a proof-of-concept.
